Who these terms cover

These Terms of Service govern your use of mercymovers.org and any moving, packing or storage services performed by Mercy Movers, a licensed and insured Washington, DC moving company. By requesting a quote, booking a move or using this website you agree to these terms.

Quotes and bookings

  1. Quotes are issued in writing after a walk-through (in-person or video) and are binding flat-rate quotes — the price you sign is the price you pay, provided the inventory and access conditions match what was described at the walk-through.
  2. Material changes you make after the quote is signed (added rooms, added stops, changed dates, new heavy items, lost building access) may require a written change order before move day.
  3. Local DC and DMV bookings do not require a deposit. Long-distance interstate bookings require a small deposit to hold the truck and crew; the deposit is credited against the flat rate at delivery.

Payment

Final payment is due at the completion of unloading. We accept major credit cards, ACH transfer and certified funds. Personal checks are not accepted on move day.

Insurance and liability

Standard released-value coverage of $0.60 per pound per article is included at no extra charge as required by federal household-goods regulation. Full-value protection is available as an optional upgrade and is documented in your move contract. On interstate moves we carry up to $1,000,000 of cargo coverage per shipment.

Cancellations

Local bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled without penalty up to 48 hours before the scheduled crew arrival. Long-distance bookings cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled load date forfeit the deposit; cancellations outside that window are refunded in full.

Building access and paperwork

You are responsible for securing reserved parking, elevator reservations, loading-dock windows and any building-issued time limits at both pickup and destination. We will issue a Certificate of Insurance to your building when requested at least 48 hours before move day.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia. Interstate moves are additionally governed by federal household-goods regulations administered by the FMCSA.

How it works

How a DC move with our crew comes together

2

Read one flat DC figure in writing

A single locked number lands back — no hourly clock ticking on the crew while they work the stoop.

3

Our uniformed DC crew rolls in

W-2 movers in our own trucks arrive on schedule and run the whole job from first box to last.
