This Privacy Policy explains how Mercy Movers (“we”, “us”, “our”), a Washington, DC moving company operating at mercymovers.org, collects and uses personal information from visitors to this website and customers of our moving services.
What we collect
When you submit a quote form, schedule a walk-through or otherwise contact us, we typically collect:
- Your name and the names of additional contacts on the move (such as a spouse or relocation coordinator)
- Your phone number and email address
- Pickup and destination addresses, building details (floor, elevator, parking) and your target move date
- Inventory information you choose to share — bedroom count, special items, packing needs
- Payment information when you book, processed by a third-party payment processor and not stored on our servers
How we use it
We use this information only to:
- Prepare your written flat-rate quote
- Coordinate your move (crew assignment, COI issuance, building paperwork)
- Bill you for completed services
- Follow up after the move regarding service quality or warranty claims
What we don’t do
We do not sell your information to other moving companies, brokers, lead-aggregation networks or marketing lists. We are not a matching service and we do not route your inquiry to outside carriers.
How long we keep it
Quote-only inquiries that don’t book are purged from our active systems within 12 months. Customer records for completed moves are retained as long as required by federal and DC tax, insurance and household-goods regulations.
Your rights and contact
You may ask us at any time to confirm what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (subject to the retention rules above). To make a request, contact our office.
