I’m Damon Whitfield, owner of Mercy Movers. I grew up between Anacostia and Capitol Hill, spent years coordinating federal-contractor facility moves, and started this company in 2010 on one rule: lock the flat price in writing before the truck rolls. Every local DC move I quote follows that rule.
Local for us means the District itself plus the near-in DMV ring — Arlington and Alexandria across the river, Bethesda and Silver Spring over the line. Our crew chiefs Andre, Devon and Marcus all live inside the Beltway, so the routing between Capitol Hill rowhouses and a Bethesda condo is a workday, not a logistics puzzle.

- Walk-through and binding quote. In person or by video. I write the flat rate before anyone signs.
- Building paperwork. COIs for the Wharf, Navy Yard and most NoMa high-rises; freight-elevator reservation; loading-dock window.
- Move day. Same uniformed crew loads and unloads. No swaps, no day-labor handoffs.
